Hi there
I hope that when you have walked in our store that I have had the chance to say that to you....
Unfortunately I won't be able to say that to you for much longer as we have decided to close during September of this year.
We began Threadneedle Craft about 7 and a half years ago and have enjoyed our time immensely.
Now it is time for us to regroup as a family and enjoy some time Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-32308545291921231612015-05-18T13:46:00.001+10:002015-05-18T13:46:20.860+10:00Away (just for a little bit)....
Just a quick message to let you know that Threadneedle Craft will be closed from
May 20th and will reopen as usual on May 27th
(Off to a wedding.... in Fiji)

Started the one for home making the "pattern" 20% bigger. This is the back of our old couch that had never seen the light of day and was still in good condition (the front was fraying to shreds and had that decidedly grubby look of boys growing up with it...)
This one also has some Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-53706737710326254742014-12-21T13:56:00.002+11:002014-12-21T13:56:22.020+11:00Cushions and Christmas
It’s been a
long time between blogs but I thought I would share with you my efforts with octagons!!!
While away
earlier this year we saw in an amazing shop some octagon shaped ottomans. They looked great and as we have some old
couch fabric at home we thought we might have a go at making them…
So I started with a couple of prototypes – not quite as big as the final one will be Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-87593514833790963602014-09-13T13:13:00.000+10:002014-09-13T13:13:48.726+10:00The Quillow... and ... wait for it ... a family holiday!!!I know it has been a while - months are definitely missing and I am sure they were there when I last looked!!!
So apart from the usual faffing around that I do, I decided to make a quillow.
I am not
sure if that is the correct term but it is the one I have heard. We were given
one when our first son was born and initially I was thinking …what will I do
with this???
Then we
started Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-89477378536526966182014-04-02T18:36:00.000+11:002014-04-02T18:36:23.485+11:00Let's Pretend.....How do you end that sentence.....
I like to pretend that I am actually going to finish all the projects I have started.....
Or maybe that my corners are perfect.... my soft toys are stuffed correctly and don't have lumpy bits.... or that my knitting is so even that people will gasp in wonder!!!
(I like to pretend with a strong positive theme)
We all used to pretend so well Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-62723750881898013582014-02-12T21:30:00.002+11:002014-02-12T21:30:49.037+11:00Novella - time to finishNovella fabric... It's different, its multi coloured... And I wondered what I was thinking...
So I cut some up into squares and played... (squares and Novella strips are 2.5" - chocolate strips are 1.5")
And realised that it all works together... I mean it should as it is a range... but it really does.
So I kept going for a while and ended up with a quilt top. Which means I had to Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-90845367482913251462014-01-08T13:01:00.002+11:002014-01-08T13:01:55.901+11:00What about a set of placemats for you???I dont know about you but I feel like I have Festive Season jet lag.... I am still trying to catch up on all the things I was suppose to have finished before Christmas but....
Anyway... ages ago these came in...
There are four fusible placemats in the pack and they are the perfect size.
So I decided to do something with them using Sunrise Silhouette panels for the front....
and Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-17292708871399254582013-12-23T11:42:00.000+11:002013-12-23T11:42:10.663+11:00And to you a safe and happy festive seasonSo that time has arrived again...
Most of the presents are bought and wrapped!! Usually we are wrapping until the wee hours of Christmas Day but we have managed to get them done....
Family gatherings are planned and (almost) catered for...
One final thing to do...
Wishing you all a
Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Take care

Like many, I didn't enjoy sewing at high school with the "though shalt sew straight lines until they are straight!!!" approach .... But when I started working I couldn't afford all the clothes I wanted.

We did Owlivia a while ago and that was hugely popular...
So when the Cherry Blossom Princess was shown to me I had to bring her into our shop...
If you look closely you will see that at this point she was a little bit Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-92051147403266308842013-10-17T16:01:00.000+11:002013-10-17T16:01:43.513+11:00Guess How Much I Love You.... I have talked about this on Facebook and Twitter but I thought I should show the Guess How Much I Love You quilt that I made very recently.
This is the quilt to before it was quilted. It sat there looking at me for a couple of weeks and then I thought I really should get on to finishing it.
I don't know about you but I think this is a lovely story and have read it many times to my Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-67391808643456718582013-09-21T12:57:00.001+10:002013-09-21T12:57:45.604+10:00HiJinks first and then School Holidays... what ... wait.... alreadyI am really trying to catch up but seem to get even further behind. One thing I have to say that has been really enjoyable has been catching up with some crafty minded souls. Last weekend I went to Crafty Hijinks in Ballarat and had a great time. (Thanks Nicole of Dabbling all day for letting me use your photo - much better than anything I took!!)
The dynamic duo Gillian and Jodie Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-47675439499675635402013-08-31T12:57:00.000+10:002013-08-31T12:57:24.676+10:00Starting and Finishing (or should that be finishing and starting and finishing??)Its been a long time between posts..... what with book fairs, school, parents and winter it seems that August has flown.... Hopefully September will bring some nicer (and consistant) weather.
But I haven't been (too) lazy - well I probably have but we wont go down that path.....
Finally, after in excess of 600 rows of knitting the Clara shawl/scarf its finished.
I absolutely love Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-9070967871432211912013-08-01T13:56:00.000+10:002013-08-01T13:56:05.658+10:00Noro Knitting - Addiction Maybe??I have talked about this in Twitter and it is still not finished....
This book, Noro Vintage, arrived a while ago and I just loved the different designs that were available. Jane Ellison is amazing with her patterns for Noro
So then I opened it to the pattern Clara - the picture shows the long version - there is a shorter version
Now to be perfectly honest I definitely Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-23884975407113144002013-06-24T11:45:00.001+10:002013-06-24T11:45:11.943+10:00OwliviaHave you met Owlivia?
She is rather colourful and loves to sit and watch the world go by.... But I am sure she would also like to go to a sleepover, eat chocolate and watch movies....
Owlivia is a panel that contains all instructions and details on how to create her.
And she is one of the things we will be doing during the School Holidays. We will also be doing a beading Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-66350423151549920712013-06-07T15:20:00.001+10:002013-06-07T15:20:19.354+10:00When Cheery met BubblyA long time ago I made Bubbly the Scrappy Soft Owl. She is a clever design by Jhoanna Monte of One Red Robin design (and a talented artist as well - check out her new website here).
Well, Jhoanna has other designs and I have had my eye on a particularly fine looking monkey. And as I still have some of that lovely milled wool, I thought it was time to make a Cheery Chimp.

A little bit of hand quilting on some of the flowers... but mainly machined.
And the person it was for is a bit of a purple girl so hence the mauve spot back.
A very long time ago I started a bag pattern by Monica Poole called Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5880512864584017859.post-27655704848161718852013-04-14T13:47:00.000+10:002013-04-14T13:47:20.155+10:00Wool, glorious woolI had planned to write a blog before Easter, the before the school holidays finished but the best laid plans have yet again fallen by the wayside....(it is the last day of school hols at least!!)
Just before the school holidays started, we received a whole bunch of wool from a local supplier, Tailored Strands...

I had seen the finished product and loved the idea of a little girl carrying her "house" filled with toys around so that she could play anywhere, anytime. (Yes, I have boys... no chance of that happening in our house!! - but I can dream)
The first thing that worried me was that there were no instructions.... What can I say.... the holiday that wasn't.... then school..... then work ......
I only feel like we are now getting organised and into the old routines to make sure that everyone gets out the door with the right lunch, the right sports equipment, the right musical instrument..... I am just tired thinking about it.
